Ahadi walked blindly through the shadows of Pride Rock in search of his lost son, when he came across the familiar dark fur lying across the rocky ground.
“Son?” he called out meekly, “Son I-I…I’m so sorry, I didn’t mean to do it, I just…I never…s-son?” But the king received no reply; the only acknowledgement that Taka had even heard him, was a dismissive flick of his ear. When he made to move closer, a voice stopped him. “Leave me be, “ the voice muttered darkly. Ahadi’s eyes closed briefly, the detached tone of his son’s voice stabbing painfully at his heart, but he deserved nothing less after his actions. "Please son…let me help you,” begged the king, his voice full of remorse. Taka lifted his head and turned to glare callously at his father. His mouth contorted into a sarcastic snarl as red liquid ran down his cheek and dripped from his chin, the substance quickly drying and matting fur. His closed, pained eye pierced the king’s soul, and he instinctively took a step back. “I think you’ve helped me enough Father!” Taka spat before he turned away from the king and rested his head on the cold stone below him.
